Illum - Journalist
I worked as a journalist, mainly writing articles about local news, I also reported on the November-December anti-corruption protests which were happening in Malta at the time. These were mainly on the protests themselves, the people involved, as well as the politicians responsible for the crisis. I also covered a number of foreign affairs, notably the first Trump impeachment, as well as other world events that were of interest to the local audience.

Italian Red Cross - Volunteer
Shortly after graduating, I decided to take a year's sabbatical and do something slightly different before properly joining the workforce. Due to my love for Italian culture, mainly from the proximity of Malta & Italy geographically, economically, and culturally, I decided to spend 10 months there as a volunteer. Volunteering for the Red Cross seemed like an obvious choice, partly due to my years as a scout learning first aid, my dad being a firefighter and health and safety specialist, and my wanting to help people. In this volunteering experience, I mainly assisted with the transportation of sick individuals, mobility assistance, basic first aid, and healthcare assistance.
October 2022 - November 2022
Oskar Lernt Englisch - Freelance English Teacher
After finishing my volunteering experience, I decided to start looking for jobs in the EU that were related to my field. After a months-long search, I came across an English language holiday camp for German children that was based in Berlin. I applied, and after a short interview process, became a member of the team. I only spent a month in this freelance job, as I only intended for it to be a stepping stone to a more permanent job in German media or education. However, this month, I participated in two camps, one of which had me responsible for creating a short (3-minute long) English language film, written and acted out by the children, with me as the director, producer, and editor.

Prinz Von Homburg Schule - Vertretungslehrer
Shortly after I stopped freelancing, I applied to work at the local Comprehensive. This resulted in me being hired as a substitute teacher to replace teachers when they were sick or unable to teach. However, shortly after joining, unforeseen circumstances meant I took over teaching 3 different classes, with children aged 13-18 being my primary students. This job helped me develop my communication skills further, as well as patience, understanding, and social nurturing. Being in this position further developed my multi-tasking ability, the ability to communicate and coordinate with other individuals, and the refinement of my pedagogical skills.

Hotel Das Schmöckwitz - Receptionist & Admin
After leaving my teaching position, I began working as a receptionist at a boutique hotel in South-Eastern Berlin. My main responsibilities included welcoming guests, coordinating room pricing and reservations, supervising housekeeping staff, and managing administrative documentation. During this time, I developed strong organisational and communication skills and enjoyed creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests from around the world.

Randstad Sourceright - Administrator
In my current role as an administrative assistant at Randstad, I oversee documentation processes, provide accounting and logistical support, coordinate meetings, and manage internal communications and post. This position has strengthened my attention to detail and my ability to manage multiple administrative workflows simultaneously.
